There is perhaps nothing more pleasing to the eye than the sight of a tank full of colorful fish and myriad sea creatures drifting lazily along whatever path they choose. If you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing this wondrous sight yourself, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to a local public aquarium or perhaps to a friend who is lucky enough to have one of these breathtaking displays in his own home and see just what it is you are missing. After all unless you are one of the fortunate ones who are blessed to be living in close proximity to the ocean—or are wealthy enough to be able to afford regular ocean going cruises—it is likely that many months or even years have passed since you have been treated to this awesome display of nature.

Of course even if you do manage what can potentially be a difficult trip to the ocean there is no guarantee that you will experience these beautiful sights first hand. After all what are you going to do once you get there? Well, your options are to rent a glass bottomed boat or own one yourself! This second option is of course a great one to take and more power to you if you can afford it! This is surely a breathtaking experience and is probably hard to equal. But realistically how many of us can really afford to own our very own boat, much less a glass bottomed one? The first option is quite a bit more plausible but then there is the difficulty in finding someone who provides just this service. Nevertheless if these two options are in fact available to you then I would wholeheartedly recommend it and you surely will not regret it. In addition the experience would provide an unforgettable adventure that would provide vacation story fodder for many years to come. In other words, if you can swing it, go for it!

Ok now stepping back (albeit reluctantly!) into the world of reality, what are the options available to you if you wish to be treated to this awesome display on a regular basis? The most realistic option that comes to mind then would be to invest in either a fresh water aquarium or saltwater aquarium. You can go for either one of these and in the end no matter which one you choose you will surely be privileged to have this stellar marine display in your own home. There are many colorful and interesting aquatic creatures for both saltwater and freshwater environments and it is largely a matter of personal preference which one you will go for.

Of course then the issue of how to remove fish waste and debris will rear its unpleasant head. This is where the Whisper Power Filter 5-15 steps in. As unpleasant as a task as maintaining aquarium cleanliness is, it is an integral part of marine pet care and ensure that your water going friends provide you with pleasure for many months and years to come.

The tank looks cloudy because i had just dosed it with some PurpleUp! 20 minutes before i decided to make a video 2 months is nearing in. Its been awhile since my last update so i thought id just do another video just to show off my new corals and what not. Unfortunately i had my first casualties. The scarlet reef hermit decided to kill one of my astrea snails and take its shell, and secondly i got a yellow watchman that was a little beat up but i guess didn’t make it. it was doing fine the first 4 days i had it then disappeared and then the skimmer just started going crazy so i guess he died and then one of the crabs pulled him under a rock. I purchased a dremel tool and some diamond cutting discs as i intend to do a lot of fragging in the future starting off with the rock of ricordea mushrooms because there’s too much on the rock for the size of it and everything’s going to be touching sooner or later. Lastly I’m curious as too what that little shelled creature is. I’m thinking some sort of clam or scallop. I also have seemed to have solved the gurgling problem, i stop a piece of airline tubing down the air vent of the PVC overflow and a piece of filter sponge in the overflow where the water goes into.

If you need help with your salt water tank set up you have come to the right place. Knowing how to set up your tank is very important, and without the right help you could end up with a lot of problems that could have been prevented. I want to show you how to get a saltwater aquarium guide that I have been using, and why I think its so important for anyone starting a salt water tank set up.A lot of people who start a salt water tank set up normally just goes to the local pet store, not really knowing exactly what they need. They ask the people working at the pet store what supplies or equipment they need and purchase it. You get home, you are excited and ready to get this saltwater tank set up, but the people at the store that sold you all the supplies didn’t really tell you what you needed to do. So you guess, or maybe try to remember what the tanks at the store look like, but you get it done. Now you have your salt water tank set up and you are ready to go get fish. You go to the store buy fish and bring them home and put them in the tank. A week goes by and the fish start to get sick or maybe one died. You call the store that you purchase the fish from and ask them why the fish died. They tell you they have no idea and you cant return the fish because they do not give refunds on fish after a couple days.Well that is how it happened for me and I was very disappointed with the store that I purchased my tank and other salt water fish tank set up equipment. I searched all over for information and found a great saltwater aquarium guide that I found to be priceless. It showed me everything I needed to know about my saltwater fish tank set up,and I have not had a single fish die since I started using it. My salt water tank set up is now thriving with life, and I owe it all to the saltwater aquarium guide, and if you would like to check it out use the link below and get your salt water tank set up done the right way. Don’t make the same mistake I did and do your research before you even think about starting your salt water tank set up.

Here are a few of my favorite fresh water fish that can add some color and personality to your tank. Clown loach The clown loach is a very popular fish amongst professional freshwater fish keepers because of its bright orange and black colors, its long life and its mystery. Clown loaches can only be found in the wild along the inland waters of Indonesia and the surrounding islands. Very little is known about clown loach mating habits and because of that no one has yet been known to successful mate clown loaches in captivity. Clown loaches can grow very large if they are given space to grow. They are a very active and social fish that prefers large groups of other loaches and often can be heard making clicking noises when feeding or fighting. In my experience, clown loaches are fun fish with lots of personality but really deserve a tank at least 60 gallons and preferably should be kept in as large schools, around 7-15 or more. They need lots of hiding places and love to burrow themselves in tiny spaces and holes. They are highly susceptible to the ich disease so they should only be kept by mature fish keepers with time and experience. Albino cory The albino cory is an adorable little bottom feeder that has been specially developed and bred for fish aquariums. The albino corys look about how you would expect, with white, nearly see-through skin and pink, reddish eyes. These fun little guys love being in a group of at least 3 or 4 and can often be seen cruising along the bottom of the tank picking up scraps or bouncing up and down the glass of the tank. Albino corys do not get very large and do not need any special care so they are perfect for the new fish keeper who is looking for a bottom feeder to help keep their tank clean. Blue Gourami Gouramis come in all different sizes and colors, but I find the blue gourami to be one of the most visually striking of the family. Gourami fish have a long, slender body with elongated rays at the front of their pelvic fins which can be quite beautiful once the fish grows larger and is fed the right food to keep them looking shiny and healthy. The one caveat about these beautiful fresh water tank fish is that they are often very territorial and are notorious fin nippers, often harassing other small fish in community tanks. Thus, gouramis should be kept with other fish that are quick enough to avoid the gourami’s bullying or do not have long, flowing fins that can be easily nipped at.
