Teen starting aquarium maintenance service…?
Would a 13 year old be able to start a small aquarium maintenance service? She was planning on doing things like water changes and things for clients.

As long as she really knows her stuff for freshwater and salt water tanks…there is a lot to know.

ya theres alot to know, if shes an expert on fish then sure. but theres only one way to find out, and that by doing it. time will tell if shes capable ofrunning a small business. even if it fails, its a learning experience that will help her on her next venture. good luck

Absolutely. Even though our modern society promotes immaturity in our teenagers, a 13 year old is still capaable of being responsible enough to run a small business.
questions though:
Does she have experience cleaning her own tanks and keeping fish healthy for extended periods of time?
Does she know how to handle emergencies in case anything goes wrong?
Does she have an idea of cllients? Not very many freshwater keepers are willing to pay people to clean the tank because it’s not very difficult to do. The money for this business is in salt water, and nobody will trust a kid that has no experience with their marine tanks.
How would she get herself and all the supplies to the location site of the aquarium?
